Washing instructions are printed on the back of every garment label. We recommend the following procedure:
- Hand-wash in luke warm water using a suitable mild detergent.
- Rinse well in luke warm water and squeeze out excess water.
- To retain the oil in the wool add a few drops of oil (olive, baby) to the final rinse.
- Carefully spin out the remaining water and lay out flat to dry.
- Please do not hang it up or Tumble Dry
I had my first black sheep jumper for years. It didn’t shrink but I expanded so it was retired via a charity shop and I invested in a more suitable size! Great look, great feel and so warm. If the new XL version lasts as long as the other one I’ll be very happy.

Bought as a Christmas present as recommended for its hard wearing features
My old jersey lasted nearly 7 years, without losing its features. Washing with a special program in washing machine wasn’t the right idea. The jersey shrunk so I bought a new one. Hopefully it will last maybe 10 years or more. The wool stays in excellent condition .
